How do you remove squirrel/mouse odor/urine from wood floors/ceilings?

We have a 237 year old house with 24'; wide, 2'; thick floors and ceilings, post and beam built. We are beginning to remove the ceilings to expose the beams but are finding old nestings and very BAD odors in sections of the wood. The planks are irreplaceable and even if we did replace them, the expense would be enormous! Any ideas or products that would get deep into the woodgrain and remove the smell? How do you remove squirrel/mouse odor/urine from wood floors/ceilings?
Nature's Miracle would be worth a try. It can be found at most pet stores and some big discounters. It is a natural enzyme that breaks down biological waste such as urine and feces. I've used it on pet stains and successfully removed the odor, too. You will probably have to get the gallon size, but the good news is that it won't damage the wood any more than it already is.How do you remove squirrel/mouse odor/urine from wood floors/ceilings?
Why would you want to remove squirrel or mouse urine smells? Its a fragrance and gives old houses character.
We used to but a bowl of ammonia in the room to absorb the smells at my Grams house. Also baking soda mixed with water. Or you can go to a home and garden store in your area. They usually have urine remover
This worked years ago for my fathers car which had a fire in it due to a cigarette left burning and smoldering over night . Under the dash he painted epoxy paint .This is a two part paint. This removed that odor. Maybe you can try this on some of the wood, and see how it does. You may have to do a little or alot. I'ts worth a try.
I agree with nature's miracle. I used it on the carpet on cat urine and my daughters puke and it took out the smell.
